The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) announced P86 billion in investment deals following a successful business mission to Australia.
This mission coincided with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s recent visit to Melbourne for the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit.
The agreements include a data center in La Union’s Port Point Freeport Zone with Kaizen ANZ Pty. Ltd., decarbonization solutions for New Clark City with Energy Decarb Pty. Ltd., a collaborative study on electric vehicle opportunities with Passenger Urban and Rapid Vehicles Solutions Inc., and expansion of next-generation battery manufacturing in New Clark City with St. Battalion Giga Factory.
“These deals position both the BCDA and the Philippines for a secure and sustainable future, driven by digital transformation and renewable energy,” said BCDA president and CEO Joshua Bingcang.
He emphasized that these partnerships align with the government’s goal of attracting foreign capital and expertise, particularly in information and communications technology (ICT), energy, and infrastructure sectors.
“These investments will contribute to inclusive economic growth and generate high-quality jobs within the economic zones we manage,” Bingcang said.
